I'm not going to go into detail regarding the storyline of this book, as you can see that for yourselves by a simple search online. I read the first book in the Wee Free Men Discworld series a few years ago. It wasn't until recently that I even knew there were more books about the strange little blue fairies! I've always liked the Terry Pratchett books, especially those that relate to Discworld. However, even though I read a LOT, I do find at times that the writting can be a bit disjointed and rambling. Tiffany Aching knows she is destined to be a Witch. She can feel it in her bones through her toes into the land, which she calls home. Why can others not see it? She defeated the queen of the fairies single handedly didn't she! Mind you it does not help when your only witnesses are the Nac Mac Feegle, a clan of fairies who were thrown out of fairyland for drinking, fighting and swearing. Tiffany Aching wasn’t much of a witch, when it came down to it. She couldn’t ride a broomstick without feeling sick, couldn’t make a shamble, couldn’t cast spells… Well, never mind. That was what apprenticeships were for, wasn’t it? A Hat Full of Sky begins where The Wee Free Men left off. Tiffany has just saved the universe (or something like that, anyway) with the help of some little blue pictsies and the feel of the chalk in her blood. (She lived on the coast.)
