I read this book after reading and loving the Anita Blake series of book, unfortunately i was really disappointed by this series. These book follow Meredith Gentry or Meredith NicEssus who is a private investigator and faerie princess- that bits a secret, until her Aunt (Queen of Air and Darkness) calls her back to the fold. The fey is dying out and Aunt Andais has initiated a race between Merry and her cousin Cel, the first to produce a child wins the crown and the loser dies. Hamilton's other books are full of excitement, adventure and tension this book is of sex.
