I bought this book very cheap while studying at university to give me something different to do. I really enjoyed this book and have read it twice over. This is volume 1 of 3 (i think). I have the first 2 and this is the best of them.

I don't really know much about Jeffrey Archer, or anything really. The way it is written though makes you feel quite sympathetic towards his rough time in prison. Whether it was deserved or not i don't really have an opinion on.

We hear alot about todays prisoners being better treated than some of the poorer people in life. This books paints a different picture.

It is very well detailed and structured with the days seperated and the time line being very clear. It is a very easy read and i could hardly put the book down. It is one of these books that is so easy to read i listened to my ipod while reading it on a train journey.

He is placed in an A class prison which is for the the harder criminals and his sentence there may have been a bit harsh. The treatment there isn't easy but alot of the inmates seemed to have given him alot of respect.

Jeffrey Archer paints a good picture of what it would be like in a top security prison though i also feel it may be a little biased in his favour.

I would definately recommend this as a great read.
