I’ve not read this book. About four years ago I bought a hardback called Blond’s Roman Emperors, which since then seems to have turned into this paperback. The change is, to my mind, regrettable: partly because the cover illustration has been changed from a great Willie Rushton cartoon to something altogether more bland; but mostly because the new title (A Scandalous History of the Roman Emperors) is less in keeping with the contents. Those expecting new “scandalous” material and a thorough historical approach are likely to be disappointed – pretty much the first words form an apology that ‘there is nothing original in this ...  Read the complete review

A very good read, history made interesting. The first part might be slow if your not interestied in the background history.
