Premium Review Miserable Mill Mounts More Misery (333 words)
by bluestar19 - written on 18/11/08 (Very useful, 31 readings)
Rating:

If you've read any of the preceding books you can guess how this one starts; the Baudelaire's are looking for a new home and this time Mr Poe (Banker) finds them a mill called "Lucky Smells Lumbermill". It's certainly not as lucky as it sounds for the Baudelaire's as they encounter yet more trouble and their bitter enemy Count Olaf once again. They meet "Sir" (so-called since his name is too long to say) and his partner "Charles". A condition of their residence at the mill is that they must work there. Their stay here involved arduous and at times dangerous work. During, their work Klaus is purposely tripped up, he falls and his glasses are broken, ...

Klaus especially liked the house though since it contained a large library, even if its books were based on grammar. Soon after "Captain Sham" arrives (I won't tell you who he is but the name gives you a clue). Aunt Josephine thinks that the captain is real, but the ...

After reading the first book, The Bad beginning you would have grown accustomed to Lemony Snickets style. His odd method of attempting to convince the reader to put the book down in the blurb is peculiar but certainly made me more intent on reading it, even if it was another book full of misery. Lemony Snicket is in fact not the true authors name but is a pseudonym. His actual name is Daniel Handler but that is another story. The reptile room is another book about the hardships the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus and Sunny have to endure. The book begins with the Baudelaire s arriving at their new place of residence, a reptile lover called Mr Montgomery. The house is ...
