Rawles's justice is based on lockean contract theory but Rawles explains the state of nature as if the participants were the heads of families with intergenerational responsibilities and he develops the veil of ignorance to cover the civilisations state of progress. The basic axioms A theory of justice is based on are: - A gain should be shared by the least well off. - Natural holdings are morally arbitrary and should be eliminated where they don't benefit the least well off. - Individual natural rights are inviolable; they are lexicographically prior to utility. - The state doesn't have rights which can't be derived ...
