Grief. It’s a horrible emotion and unfortunately, it’s a feeling that we all inevitably experience at some point in our lives. Everybody deals with it in different ways....some people cope remarkably well but others, like Ali Anderson, find that they can hardly cope at all. We join Ali on the anniversary of a heart breaking tragedy that tore her and her husband Elliot apart. Unable to stop blaming each other and themselves, they simply couldn’t find comfort in each other and drifted apart through lack of communication and the excruciating suffering caused by their grief. Act of Faith is Erica James' most recent novel. Her other novels include 'A Breath of Fresh Air', 'Time for a Change' , 'Airs and Graces' and 'A Sense of Belonging'. Act of Faith is a novel that moves the reader a great deal and tackles the tricky ground encountered by a couple whose son has died as a very young child and their broken marriage. Erica James bases most of her novels in and around the Cheshire countryside. They are all immensly readable and want you to look for the next one. Unfortunatly this is her latest one and as I read this at Christmas its a long wait for the next. This story starts off with Ali Anderson, the main character unable to come to grips with the death of her son and subsequent breakdown of her marriage. With wry humour and romance in places the story line is fast moving and easy to follow. Thouroughly reccomend this as a good beach read especially if you are a Joanne Trollope or Maeve Binchy fan. ... Read the complete review

ThIS is a compelling read and it is about love and forgiveness. It was a very easy read and i recommend it for a holiday read as it was not very demanding on the brain.A good holiday read. It was set during the Christmas peroid when Ali was thinking about her life she was at her son's grave .Thinking how her life had changed. She was very determined to stand on her own two feet and to cope with getting through the Christmas peroid on her own. Turning down her ex-husband's offer to spend the christmas holiday with him and his father. Eventually gives in to he best friend Sarah who was persistent in her joining her and her husband Trevor. The only problem she had was ... Read the complete review
