After three atempts to finish reading this book I have given up. A princess from a fictional Kingdom in Europe is suffering from amnesia. Her father hires an American ex-cop to be her bodyguard and they fall in love. I thought the plot was completely lacking originality and I lost interest in it very quickly. There's only so many times you can read about someone being frustrated at not being able to remember something before you get bored and put the book down. Gabriella lacks depth. She doesn't remember who she is and it seems like Roberts doesn't really know who Gabriella is either. There's just nothing about her and it's very difficult to relate ... Read the complete review

Another title and another trilogy from the incomparable Nora Roberts. Affaire Royale is the first in the mini-trilogy Cordina's Royal Family which centres on the love lives of the three siblings of a fictional European royal family. One gets the feeling that the role models for this family were perhaps the Grimaldi family of Monte Carlo, only far more attractive! Affaire Royale which was first published by Silhouette way back in 1986, tells the story of Princess Gabriella.
