Advantages: Great book for fans of the TV show

Disadvantages: None

All Aboard the Ninky Nonk is a lovely chucky book based in the television series In the Night Garden. The cover of the book has a picture of Igglepiggle and behind him is the Ninky Nonk in the garden. There is a yellow splash in the top corner where the name Igglepiggle is and the title is below this in white lettering. The back cover of the book is blue and has picture of Igglepiggle in his sailing boat and a short paragraph about the book.

The book tells the story of the Ninky Nonk, one day everyone was having a bouncy ride on it. We are then shown the Tombliboos who see the Ninky Nonk and then they catch it and also have a ride, next the Ninky Nonk stops for Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy, they too get on and have a ride. We then see the Ninky Nonk stop for Makka Pakka but he does not want to ride on the Ninky Nonk. What does Makka Pakka want to do instead?

This book is lovely for fans of the show. The pages are all very chunky and made from strong cardboard so it is even great for very small children as they will find it very difficult to rip the pages.

The story is very simple but that fits well with the show and my boys all love listening to it. My eldest is able to read this book by himself and does so in about 5 minutes. When I read it to my younger children it does take longer as we do sit and talk about all the pictures and what we can see in them.

The pages are all a nice bright colour with each one being different. Also on the pages are nice bright pictures which are actual pictures from the television show so the children will instantly recognise the characters. The writing is also a very good size and is easy to see.

The book was published in 2007 by Penguin and has a retail price of £3.99. We did pay the full price as we bought it from the school book fair so we did not mind paying this price but this book and the other titles in the series are widely available at a lower price. I have seen these books for sale in Tesco with a price of £3.00.

I recommend this book for all fans of the television show.

Summary: Lovely short story which follows the TV series

My little one is a massive fan, i find it a bit strange, but it is very bright and colourful so i can see the attraction for the young uns!

Harry had all 6 of these but his interest waned very quickly back to Bob and Fireman Sam!
