When a fifth couple are found murdered, Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta is more determined than ever to find out why there is a serial killer who likes to murder young couples - the problem is, there is little evidence as when the bodies are found, they are usually so badly composed its impossible to find out how the couples are killed - that is until the fifth couple are found and through a journalist friend, Kay discovered that maybe there is a political cover up and the FBI know more about these murders than they are letting on. This is my first Patricia Cornwell book and it was in my possession for a while before I read it. My mum had it first as ... Read the complete review

Patricia Cornwell is one of those authors where you wait in eager anticipation for her next novel, yet when it comes you are always disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy reading her novels, but they seem to deteriorate with each one she writes. 'All that Remains' isn't nearly as good as some of her earlier novels, although it still has the suspense, interest value and gorey descriptions as the rest. It is easy, mindless reading that absorbs you while it lasts. ... Read the complete review

This was my first book about Medical Examiner, Kay Scarpetta. I've read each one following, but this one stuck in my mind the most. The way that Scarpetta puts everything together, while staying together herself, is very impressing. I mainly chose this book because Ms. Cornwell's books seem to take a dive. I've enjoyed each of her other books, but not as good as this one. Diving into the world of a Chief Medical Examiner was never something I expected to like, but I was really amazed at how consumed I became by this book, I could not put it down. Following in the footsteps of Scarpetta was an experience that one won't soon forget. I thought it ... Read the complete review

Patricia Cornwell at her best!! I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, full of suspense I just had to keep turning the page. (Not a good book to get your hands on the evening before an exam!!!) Having read all of Patricia Cornwell's books, I thought that this one was by far the best. It was well paced and,as usual, her vivid descriptions were both stomach-turning and satisfying as you almost felt that you were involved in the novel. The other bonus point of this book was that you were kept guessing as to the identity of the killer right up to the novel's startling conclusion. This book comes highly recommended! ... The book tells the convincing story of the lead character Kay Scarpetta who is handed the job of unravelling the mystery with the disappearance of five couples from their very own cars, which are later found dead in a forest some time later. The book then tells the story of her quest to find the killer! Reading the blurb and hearing from various sources that this was a decent book, I had little hesitation in buying a copy, and having read previous books by this author, I had a fairly good idea of what I could expect. However, to say I was gob-smacked by just how fine this book is, would not go near to giving it the justice it deserves! I was stunned by what is simply one ... Read the complete review
