Gripping, Unpredictable
Some might not like the fact that its style is Victorian rather than modern

short, profound, occasionally funny
ending a bit too short

A stunning piece of fictional realism, a higher level of crime fiction.
some inconsequential characters, for some the gruesome and frank depiction of murder may be too much

Valuable insight into the political history of the Middle East
Badly written in places but still a great work
