I love Dr Seuss as you all know if you've read any of my other reviews, I often mentioned his books and how good they are to educate children, and to capture their imaginations with his weird creatures and rhyming stories. This was Dr Seuss's first children's book, and believe it or not he actually got the idea for his book when travelling home from abroad on a boat, and its was the sounds he could hear from the engines that inspired him, and I'm glad it did, as he has now inspired many other children all over the world and also a awful lot of other authors have been inspired by him. Dr Seuss never fails to write fun books for children and this one is no exception. And to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street is a great book which my eldest is loving at the minute. The cover of the book is bright yellow with a picture of a man in a carriage riding on top of a blue elephant and the title above this in blue and red lettering. There is also the much recognised red and white stripped banner down the left hand side. The back cover of the book is green with a short paragraph about the book.
