Angel's Flight is a book in the Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly. Connelly is a great crime fiction writer and these books are all based in the Hollywood division of Los Angeles where the main character Bosch is a homicide detective after being demoted from the prestigous Robbery Homicide team.

In this book Bosch finds himself investigating the murder of Howard Elias a lawyer who specialises in cases bought by mostly black prople against police officers and Elias no holds bared approach as made him a lot of enemies amongst the police so it is an assignment from hell for Bosch as many of his current and former partners are under suspiscion.

I'm a fan of Connelly work and this book is excellent, it is a fast aced adventure with loads of plot twists and it really sucks you into the whole story line and I found this book really hard to put down.

While much of the character of Bosch is a bit of a stereotype he also has some nice unique touches as well that make him a bit different without straying too far from what you would expect. While this si part of a series of books to feature him it can be read in isolation as well without any real downsides.

If you like fast paced thrillers that are not too heavy going then this is ideal and well worth reading.
