Advantages: such a good pick-me up book to read especially when your feeling down

Disadvantages: Don't read in public for the weird looks when you almost wet yourself laughing at it

Angus, thongs and full frontal snogging, you may think that this is a sex book designed for women over the age of 16 from the title, but it is actually a teenage comedy book, (but you would be right in thinking that it is a women’s book) about a cat that cannot control who he gets pregnant (Angus the cat), thongs - seeing your enemy wear them, and never having snogged a member of the opposite sex before; so that you go insane and end up having snogging lessons from someone you don’t like so much. Georgia has to go to an all-girl’s school because her parents want her to go there. They have to wear berets at the school and Georgia and her friends are always coming up with silly ideas about wearing them differently just to annoy the teachers; especially the caretaker and gardener Elvis, which they just lurve to wind up and torture.

Boys and Thongs

It starts off having her best friend, jazzy (who is completely insane) falling in love with someone who works at the greengrocer and persuades her (Georgia) into walking by the shop casually but finding that he isn’t in, but that his hot, drop dead older brother is instead and so Georgia ends up falling madly in love with him. They go to many gigs to try and see him (because they found out that he is in a band) with their other friends, and so jazzy ends up going out with tom. But each time they go to one of his gigs, Georgia gets even more tongue tied as he speaks to her, and gets even more heart-broken when she finds out that her enemy who’s two years above her and a school prefect is going out with him. After that, Georgia and her friends spy and stalk her until one day, after school, they go round the back of her house, and look through her bedroom window to find that she wears thongs!

Full Frontal Snogging

This is the full frontal snogging part of the book. Well, Georgia, at the start of the book, hadn’t even kissed a guy, let alone snogged one, and so like most teenagers in her position, they end up thinking
o That she is ugly and unattractive
o That no guy would ever want to kiss her
o That the spot on her nose is the cause of this problem
o Hat Sex god (aka Robbie) will never like her in that way
o And that she needs to go to an ugly home
And because of this, she ends up being told by one of her best mates that there is this guy that will teach you how to kiss and snog. Peter Dyer was his name and as Georgia was so desperate, she ended up on his door step, asking for snogging lessons. A few days later, she humiliates herself in front of Sex God and his girlfriend wet Lindsey by letting peter do whatever he wants to her at a party- until SG and Lindsey comes out and spots them that is.

Angus

Then there is her overweight, sex-mad cat who is also in love, but with Georgia’s neighbors pedigree cat.Her owners are posh ‘nothing will ever be good enough for our cat’ snobs who turn their nose up at angus and his antics. Angus loves to hunt for mice and other living things and ends up dragging it through the house and annoying ‘Vati’ (the German word for father that Georgia calls him because he is too embarrassing for the word ‘dad’ or ‘father’) and so eventually, what with all the yelling from the over the road neighbors about angus liking to use their cat as a sex toy, it drives Vati mad and angus ends up getting his trouser snake cut off. This then makes Georgia unhappy and sad. I mean would Vati like it if he had his trouser snake cut off? No he wouldn’t, he’d be in agony and would hate it! Why should sex mad Angus suffer then?

Conclusion

This is an all round good book to get your teeth into especially with summer coming up. If you go sunbathing and read it while you wait for your tan, then be careful if passers by stare at you wetting yourself with laughter because you’ll only have yourself to blame! But overall, this book I would rate a 9 and half out of ten, because the follow up books are even funnier (and the fact that people stare at you while you are laughing at this book!).
