These books are just INSANE!! Nothing like 'em. Reading this book is so different in so many different ways, but so relatable and SO FUNNY!

In a nutshell, the series of books that start with Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, are the diaries of Georgia Nicolson. Georgia is a girl after out own hearts- she has beauty crises, goes on 'the rack of love', selotapes her fringe down, makes fun of her woodland loving friend, tries crazy traps to snag boys, and spies on her enemy who wears thongs.

But the difference to other teen-girl books is that these are real and have grubby moments and embarrassing parents. The author Louise Rennison really knows that life can be a 'bit poo and merde' sometimes, haha! The diary is in little snippets at times of the day so it's light and easy to follow and to stop and start.

There are so many books in this series now, but this is the original and it sees Georgia getting snogging lessons, getting a boyfriend with the biggest lips ever, but eventually stopping her brain from falling out for just enough time to finally get with SG (Robbie the Sex God). Her character isn't made fun of because it's in the first person, Georgia writes the diary herself, so you go along with her crazy ideas like bleaching a streak of her hair with bathroom bleach as they really seem like something you might consider when facing a date with a guy much older.

Georgia also has her Ace Gang, a group of 'pallies' who have boy dramas too, and you find out about their gossip and they even have funny words they use for everyday things, such as cold being 'nippy noodles' and boobs as 'nunga nungas'- you'll have to read to see how they were formed!

All you need to do is read a tiny extract online to get a feel for these books. They are so light to read and very refreshing. Unlike some first, pilot books, this really is a classic and doesn't need any improvements as Rennison continues the diaries. Classic Georgia Nicolson. She's hilarious!
