I love reading, I always have done! As a child I had a selection of favourite authors. One of the ones I loved the most was Lucy Daniels. She wrote the Animal Ark books about a girl named Mandy Hope, who was a huge animal lover with two 'vet parents'. I too am a huge animal lover, so I adore these books! One of them was Goat in the Garden.

Now the cover of the book is naturally the first thing you are going to see. Thankfully, I personally feel that this one is quite attractive! There is a beautiful blue sky, and in front of it there is a picture of a goat! He is jet black and very handsome! He melted my heart, and I was certainly drawn in straight away!

The book is about a goat named Houdini. He is a very mischevious little goat and a farmer threatens him, saying that he will rid of him once and for all. Mandy and James have to try and save the goat before it is too late, but will they manage?

This is a very lively and gripping plot, and was a delight to read. I've read it a few times since the first and it is always amusing. I personally feel that it is ideal for children, around the age range of 8 to 13. The writing is a good size so they do not need to strain there eyes to read it. The language is nice and simple too, but is not so easy that they would get bored with it. It is a delightful read for anybody older too, making a nice and light read when you want something to the point and entertaining!

This book can be be bought in stores for around £4.99. While that price is not too bad, you are able to purchase it from Amazon.co.uk for just 1p! Even with the £2.75 postage and packaging charges, that is still amazing! If I did not already own the book, I would highly recommend!

This is a delightful read about a goat - an animal you rarely find as the central character! I've read it quite a few times and my copy is well thumbed! If you have yet to read this I recommend you find a copy, its brilliant!
