I was five years old. It was Xmas eve and I ran to the door to collect whatever had made the 'thud' on the floor after the postman had been. Oh yes - old enough to know Xmas meant presents!!! This 'thud' was addressed to me and it is one of the most beautiful gifts I have ever received. My Godparents had sent me a copy of "The Animal Family".
