... which are very modern and up-to-date. Having read both, I think that both have merit, but as I am more of a fan of the traditional style of crime fiction than anything else, the Mitchell and Markby novels are my preferred choice. Although my preferred choice, that isn't to say that I particularly like the main characters - Meredith Mitchell and Alan Markby. Sally Caswell persuades her husband to leave London to live a more peaceful life in rural Oxfordshire. Unfortunately, her life has become anything but peaceful. Her husband is quarrelsome, particularly with the elderly next-door neighbour.
