Duncan Bannatyne: Anyone Can Do It is a book from one of the stars of the BBC hit programme Dragon's Den. A successful entrepreneur, he has created and developed profitable businesses across a range of industries. With such a track record, its not much of a surprise that he cashed in on some easy money by bringing out a book about his life story! The book takes the reader through Duncan's life, from his humble beginnings in Scotland, to his life in the navy and further into his forays into the business world. His life story is somewhat of a rags to riches tale, which is always an interesting read. I've always been interested in reading autobiographies so I ... Read the complete review

You will probably best know Duncan Bannatyne from the BBC TV program Dragon's Den, where five entrepreneurs have business ideas presented to them and they decide whether they are going to invest in these ideas. It is so easy to think from watching Dragon's Den that these 'dragons' of industry have all had a sound academic business education, you know the business degree, and a foot in the door due to family connections, old boy network etc. And while that may be true for many in business, it is not so for Duncan Bannatyne. I received Duncan Bannatynes "Anyone Can Do it - My Story" as a Christmas gift two years ago. Ive always enjoyed watching Dragon's Den on TV so this book was a great present. I liked this book on the basis that it was not so much a self help book like many personal finance/ entrepreneurial books and the go at present. Its set out as an autobiography detailing Duncan's rise from a child to a poor family in Clydebank, to the millionaire entrepreneur he is today. The book isn't a boring one thats too detailed to follow, and it doesn't come across as a boasting session for Duncan either. Its well worth a read if your even just ... Read the complete review

I have watched the Dragons Den show for a number of years and was never much of a fan of Duncan Bannatyne to be honest but decided to buy his book one day when I saw it on offer and it turned out to be really good! He describes how he got to where he is today and how he didn't even start to make any money at all until he was in his thirties when he came up with the idea of selling ice-cream. He describes his background of poverty and working hard for a living in such a way that makes you want to keep on reading to find out what he did next. This book is certainly very inspiring and I would recommend it to anyone to read. It will make you realise that if you have ... Read the complete review
