This book is written as a novel but it is based on fact. It's the 3rd volume of Joy Packer's autobiography and covers her travels in Africa while her husband was Commander in Chief of the South Atlantic (Africa) Station.(Naval). It is a fascinating story about the growth of South Africa,( Basutoland, Swaziland and Bechuanaland). Joy Packer seems to find people more fascinating than the places she visits and this comes through very strongly in her writing.
