Are you Dave Gorman is a fantastic story about a guy - Dave Gorman and his friend Danny Wallace who make a drunken bet that Dave cannot find another 54 Dave Gorman's located anywhere in the world, then meet them and have Dave's picture taken with them. What starts out as a silly 'boy project' in the words of Danny's girlfriend soon turns into a worldwide hunt to meet the elusive Dave Gorman's. The book contains many funny stories of how each Dave Gorman is located such as emailing every conceivable email address with Dave Gorman in it, to wondering around a Norwegian city in traditional Norwegian footwear with T-shirts asking Are You Dave Gorman?. One story ... Read the complete review

'A true story about two friends, a drunken bet, a 25,000 mile journey - and a lot of people called Dave Gorman'. Written by comedian Dave Gorman and his best mate, Danny Wallace, this is a truly original and very amusing book. The first time I ever heard of Dave Gorman was when my husband was given a DVD of Dave Gorman's 'Googlewhack Adventure' show for Christmas. We watched it whilst we both had food poisoning. I have never laughed so much whilst being sick in my life. The man was quite hysterically funny. We had been on the hunt for his books for a while but we've never been able to find them on special offer and I really resent paying ... Read the complete review

Some people are simply too dangerous to spend any sort of prolonged periods in each other's company - not a homocidal sort of dangerousness, necessarily, just a certain, mad-cap character. Some people do seem to have a worrying talent for obsessing over things which others see as pointless and incidental, and pursuing them to the point of insanity, rather than doing anything that could possibly be seen as "normal". On their own, these characters can be shunned by the rest of society, marginalised so as to stop them doing such stupid things. However, when united, like two halves of a whole, these people tend to wreak all kinds of havoc. Dave Gorman and Danny ... Read the complete review

?Are You Dave Gorman?? is the hilariously true story of a drunken bet that becomes an obsessive quest across the world. On Danny's birthday, he bets Dave that there aren't ?loads? of Dave Gormans in the world, and the next morning they are on a train to Scotland to meet their first DG- a very necessary and much-used shortening of the famous name. While shuffling cards on the train back to London, Danny bets Dave that he can't find 54 Dave Gormans, that's one for every card in the pack including the jokers, little knowing what effect this will have on the next six months of his life. ?Are You Dave Gorman?? will already be a familiar tale to those who saw ?the ... Dave Gorman is a man of projects. He's also a man of rather peculiar facial hair arrangements, but that's by the by. Most recently he has had the obsession of googlewhacking (theediscerning fancies 'flamingo paradigm' as one, and will be checking google soon in case), and before that it was living life in complete accordance with his tabloid stars, to see if he ended up happier than his twin brother. Before that came the subject in hand, and before that a task involving gathering thousands of suggestions for making the world happier, which he then tried out. Before that it was writing for Mrs Merton and being a good comic personality, but a ... Read the complete review
