It can be argued that Sylvia Plath was one of the most influential female poets of the twentieth century. Her story stirs up lots of emotion and feminist feeling and a lot of this is due to the poems she wrote in her most famous work 'Ariel'. It contains a total of 40 poems, including her most famous works such as 'Daddy' and each of these poems is an outpouring of emotion about issues, which had been troubling her throughout her life. Sadly, the rest don't compare. The real tragedy of Plath is not so much her death itself, but that it came at a time when she was just beginning to find her voice as a poet of great strength and character. Poems like 'Edge', 'Morning Song', ...
