Advantages: Very funny, A truly unique book

Disadvantages: possibly only for the younger reader, i can't see all adults reading this book

Artemis Fowl tells the story of twelve year old criminal mastermind, Artemis Fowl, facing off against the LEPrecon unit an elite crime fighting unit with a difference: it is made up of fairies. These fairies, however, are not kind and childlike, they are heavily armed and seriously ticked off.
The trouble begins when young Artemis Fowl, in an attempt to rebuild his families wealth, decides to try and get his hands on fairie gold. He starts his plan by kidnapping captain Holly Short, an LEP officer. When the LEPrecon unit is sent in prepared for a simple mission against a twelve year old, they get a lot more than they bargained for, Young artemis seems to be ahead of the LEP at every turn and no-one can work out why, when the LEP realise what they are up against the battle really begins and the Fowl estate becomes a battle ground. The Fairy world is pushed to the brink of war and the fate of all magick creatures is put on the line.

I definetely recommend this book it is truly excellent and it puts a whole new spin on fairies, goblins and dwarfs.
