Advantages: A good chick-lit book

Disadvantages: a bit rushed

Thea, a 35 year old, leads a very disorganised life. She rents out the rooms in her house to student lodgers whom she mothers. She has a part time job developing photographs. Due to persuasion from her friend, Molly, Thea joins Molly on a tour in France, where she meets an Irish painter called Rory.

On return from France Thea jets off to Ireland on a whim to find Rory. Thea discovers Rory's landscape canvas paintings and decides that she wants to open a gallery to show them. All her friends are in shock, but Thea knows what she is doing.

Artistic License by Katie Fforde was published in 2002. On reading this book I was slightly disappointed. The whole book had a rushed feel to it; the transition between each section of the story happened very suddenly leaving you wondering what had happened in the middle.

The idea behind the story is good and this book fits in well with Katie Ffordes normal chick-lit style. Worth a read but not quite as good as her others.

Summary: not her best
