This must, I fear, be a short review, for I find little to say about this book - certainly little that is complimentary. The verses are all of a muchness, in that they all plod along with no entertainment, in the same dry, masculine, high-falutin' voice. If you have followed other poetry ops of mine you might gather I have a thing about obscure references, and this Asylum is bursting with them. Poems are dedicated to Octavio Paz, who we might have heard of, but when they burst into Spanish I, for one, am lost. There are several other quotes from other people that precede many poems, and not one seems to have any bearing, or sense of recognition. ...
