Theediscerning knows very little about the novels of Paul Auster. They include Mister Vertigo, which he has had on his shelves for over a decade, unopened. They are set in New York, and that's about it. But when a 10-year old graphic novel adaptation of one of them, City of Glass, skirted around in the top 50 not-yet-released books chart on amazon recently, he became a little intrigued. And when his local library let him have a freshly minted copy of the same tome to himself for a few weeks, he became a little thankful.
