 ... all those hands down. Its just such a shame they only made one season. Anyway the story, well there isn't much of one, its about 6 school girls in Japan attending 3 years of high school and also features some of their teachers. Its so wacky and silly that is is so funny. The animation is brilliant and so funny. I won't really go into the details of the show as you can read this anywhere, but anyone who likes, anime, comedies and just wacky shows, this is definitely for you. I know this is for the book, but i am on about the TV series as it is fantastic and i want to get the word out. This is one of the best and funniest shows i have ever watched. Japan never fails to impress me when it comes to Anime and this is the same. Now i love comedies and have a good laugh at shows like Simpsons, Family Guy etc, but Azumanga Daioh just beats all those hands down. Its just such a shame they only made one season. As per the popularity of Japanese manga in western culture, it is interesting to note that much of what we know of the genre is actually quite limited as opposed to the Japanese market that in its slaving production schedules brings out a huge amount of different kinds of manga we will probably never get to hear of, much due to either being considered as unviable for it to be licensed and translated for foreign countries, or just that a large amount of it is simply utter tosh.
