As soon as I found out I was pregnant I began buying books for my baby, and this was one of the first that I bought. The book really couldn't be any simpler - just three pages with an outline picture of "Mummy", "Daddy" or "Baby" on one side and a geometric pattern on the other side of each, entirely in black, white and yellow. The patterns increase in complexity throughout the book. The cloth pages have crinkly material so that they make a sound when scrunched, and the front page has a safe mirror suitable for babies. I couldn't wait to start showing my baby books, but even I was surprised when this one held his ... Read the complete review

This is a very basic cloth book with few pages, but great appeal for newborns! The reason why it is so great for babies is because it is made up of black, white and yellow images and striking black and white faces depicting Mum, Dad and Baby. Newborns in particular love looking at strong contrasts, so this book is perfect for them to stare at. The front cover of the book has the title 'Faces' on it and there are simple outline drawings of the faces in the book on a black and white swirl background. There is a circular mirror (unbreakable - I think it may be mirror card...) in the middle of the front cover - another bonus, as babies love to look at ... Read the complete review

When my daughter was pregnant I was talking to a friend about how she'd instilled a love of books into her two older children and was keen to encourage the new baby as early as possible. My friend recommended a book called Faces which she had bought her grandson at just four weeks old and he still loves it now at eighteen months, I went home and ordered a copy from Amazon to put away for when the baby was old enough to appreciate it. What makes Faces so unusual is the fact that it is completely in black and white with only a mirror on the first page to break this monochrome design. The book is only six pages long and is a cloth book that is padded with stuff ... Read the complete review

After my daughter was born I needed some ideas of things to do with her to keep her entertained. As I love reading I thought books would be a good one to start with and after searching Amazon.co.uk came across this. It is a cloth book with a little strap on it so you can velcro it around the pram/buggy/car seat/activity gym so it doesn't get thrown out! It only uses three colours iin the book, black, white and yellow. Babies like looking at high contrast and I have found that my daughter will stare at this book for ages. We currently have it velcro'd round the head rest in the car so she can see it from her car seat. There are 6 pages, ... Read the complete review
