Advantages: A good read

Spooky, scary and sad. Bad dreams by Anne fine is a real thriller. Happy, sad, spooky, fun, jokey, scary...... I could go on forever. I first heard about 'Bad Dreams' on 'Go 4 it' (Radio 4 (92fm) 7.15 - 7.45 pm Sundays) as they were doing a series of readings from the book. Then one evening I had to miss it, so with some birthday money I bought it.. The book was so gripping, each chapter left questions. I just had to read on, I couldn't put it down! The story is about a girl called Melonie or Mel, she finds herself caught up in the private life of Imogen, who arrives at their school midterm. A special necklace is allowing her to see into the future of photos and books. Imagon describes her future telling process as almost as a dream, '"So what if it's a chiller thriller, or horror book?" "Oh it's awful, like being trapped in a nightmare. You have those horrible and paniky feelings as you see every ghastly thing about to happen, like a train coming round the bend while a car's still stuck on the crossing, of the toddler leaning too far out of the top-floor window. But, just have to stand there holding your breath, and watching and waiting."' That is a small taster for you. A small piece of advice, start it in the morning and expect to finish at 9pm This book cost £4.99 and is available from all good bookshops. It is good for readers aged 8 to 12.
