Advantages: great second novel from Wendy Holden

Disadvantages: none

I read Wendy Holden's first novel Simply Divine and found it just that a Simply Divine read so when I saw that her second novel Bad Heir day was on offer for 50p from Mango as part of the introductory offer I snapped it up.
I wasn't disappointed as it was just as good as the first the only problem I had was finding some spare time to read it.

It tells the story of Anna who lives with Seb who is a complete tosser and she is looking for somewhere new to live. She is an inpyring writer but has no experience so she applies for a job with a published authour with writers block called Cassandra who hires her as a live in nanny.
Not exactly what Anna had in mind but seb gives her the elbow for another girl so she takes the job.

The kid she looks after is called Max and is the spawn of satan a right little bugger who is out of control but Cassandra thinks the sun shines out of his backside but alas no one else does and he goes through nannies at an alarming rate.

Cassandra isn't really any better herself as she is demanding and selfish and shows no signs of teaching Anna how to write she just piles more and more housekeeping jobs onto her.

Looking for a way out her only ally is another nannie called Gerri who is a good friend to her and then she meets Jamie heir to a remote Scottish castle called Dampie. He proposes to her after only three dates and she agrees to marry him as a way out of Cassandra's home and away from the dreadful Max.

This book has a delightful twist in the tale at the end and is full of wit the whole way through and guarenteed to keep you hooked the whole way through.
It is very easy to get into the story and flows nicely from start to finish.
I can't wait for the next book Pastures Nouveux as she is a superb writer and hopefully sticks around for a long time yet

Would you read it again?*
