Advantages: Amusing at times, quite entertaining reading...

Disadvantages: BUT often crude and just unfunny attempts at humour cloud this book.

Bad Heir Day is the second novel by Wendy Holden, former glossy magazine contributor, her first being Simply Divine.

Bad Heir Day, whilst not being brilliant, is quite an entertaining and light (very light) read. Holden's style is polished although her humour feels a little too polished often false and sometimes a wee bit cringy. She can also be quite unnecessarily crude.

The story follows poor frumpy old Anna who having just been dumped by rich boy Seb finds herself working for a popluar bonkbuster author Cassandra Knight as a nanny. ( As a wannabe writer Anna thought she was going to get some hands on writing experience not spolit tantrum throwing little boy experience.)

Generally the storyline is good, with some amusing characters and a frighteningly believeable insight into the lives of the rich and useless, but again it is Holden's humour that in my opinion stops this rather average book from being a very good one.

I was going to write my own opinion of this book, but having read yours - I can't think of anything else which I could add!
