The Simple Truth - David Baldacci:
... INTRODUCTION ~~~~~~~~~~~ It s been a while since I have read a political or legal thriller worthy of the genre, particularly since John Grisham s output has become so formulaic and predictable in recent years. At a recent kid s birthday party, a friend overheard my less than complimentary remarks about Grisham s latest work and suggested that I check out David Baldacci instead. He was so keen to get me... David Baldacci in general ... Baldacci is an author of a wide variety of novels. I read Absolute Power which was quite a gripping thriller which I enjoyed although I found it a bit simplistic, especially when compared with my favourite authors Tom Clancy and Frederick Forsyth but possibly it is a slightly different genre and it is easier to read. I enjoyed it well enough though that when I saw another of his novels in a charity box I picked it up and eagerly started reading. In hindsight maybe I should have read the cover to see what I was getting (often I like not to so that its more of a surprise). After a chapter of Wish You Well I stopped in confusion and read the cover. This book was... Read the full review: Hit and miss by masterchef98 |

Simple Genius - David Baldacci ... through the thriller section, I picked this book up randomly. Turned out to be a good choice. The story is based around partners Michelle Maxwell and Sean King (although there is chemistry there, at the moment they re simply colleagues). Both are private detectives, but Michelle is going through a bad patch. This isn t the first in the series, but I gathered that during their last book Michelle s boyfriend was a serial killer. That is bound to mess anybody up. But there s more to Michelle s depression than just that. The story starts in a bar, where Michelle is getting pretty drunk. And she has only one intention in mind: kill someone. Anyone. She finds a target ... Read the full review: Simple Genius by bluepink |

Stone Cold - David Baldacci ... third ride out for the camel club and oliver stone. This time Annabell Conroy is in need of their help. She in on the run from a thug Called Jerry Bagger after Annabell pulled off an audacious con on him. This will proof to be the camels clubs most dangerous and risky task they have ever undertaken. Especially when they become aware of another deadly enemy that will expose Stones mysterious past, who is also starting to stack up bodies in his wake. This is by far the best of the camel clubs series giving the reader an insight in to who oliver stone was and did in his murky past. Although the third story about the camel club, you do not have to have any knowledge of what... Read the full review: The camel clubs most dangerous episode to date by falcon1959 |
