Before I talk about the book "Barefoot Contessa At Home" I think I should just enlighten the person reading this who has no idea who or what Barefoot Contessa is! Barefoot Contessa is a cookery program shown on UK TV food which is 260 on Virgin (249 Sky). I am glued to it every evening at 6.30 as it passes half an hour with ease, and is so entertaining. Ina Garten who presents the show used to own a delicatessen called The Barefoot Contessa which occupied her for many years. She bought the shop in 1978 off the previous owner who had called it Barefoot Contessa after the 1950's film starring Ava Gardner. In 2003 Ina sold the shop and now she devotes ...
