Morrison may be able to write thrilling and well-constructed comics, but he can't write prose for toffee. His attempts to tell a more traditional text based story flounder badly. I found it really hard going to read this, so poor was the writing. Batman & Son is not for the faint-hearted or the casual Batman fan who likes (relatively) simple tales where Batman thwarts a crime. Nor is it for those who like their narratives straightforward with an obvious beginning, middle or end. And it is definitely NOT for anyone who has been neglecting their Batman reading. The book contains four connected but tales. At its core there are two key stories: the first sees Batman's former lover Talia turn up with Damian - Batman's son.
