This is a book I bought in the library for my grandchildren cost me 30p RRP £4.99p

This book is a thick 26 page book about 16cm square.
I bought this book because I think it is good for children to have books from a very young age for parent to read to them and for them to get to understand the enjoyment from reading. Children will soon want to look at and read books themselves if you make it fun and they see you reading. Ideally make a time each day before bed is good to read them a story and to then as they get older read and look at the book with them. A book at bedtime helps calm a child helps the bonding between parent and child. It is a special time as well as getting your child interested in books and reading and creating a reading habit bedtime stories are a time when your child is relaxed and might talk to you and can talk about happy, or sad things that have happened to them that day , it’s a time for reassurance to make them feel secure . Best read a good happy book before your little one sleeps sad books might result in bad dreams. Eventually if you start reading /looking at books with your child from an early age (my grand daughter aged 1 loves books and frequently asks for one, its good for her language development learning new words ) You may get some peace and quiet when they are reading their books to themselves.

This book Bear on a bike is designed for the very young the illustrations are in bright primary colours, the story is about a bear on a bike and a boy who is following him on foot. They go to the market The bear gets on a raft on the river takes the boy with him goes to the forest sees all the fearsome creatures, they go on a steam train to the seaside on a boat which goes to an island Bear goes in a Cinderella type carriage to a castle Then on the last page we see bear on a rocket waving goodbye To his friend.

There are words in this book each double page has 4 lines of words alternate pages
Starting “Bear on a bike, as happy as can be, where you are going bear? Please wait for me start I’m going to the “market seaside or wherever they are going on that page” then the next three lines in rhyme about where they are going.
The next set of words also in rhyme on the next page.
This book is fun to read put lots of expression into your voice show your child the pictures point out the pictures in the places they are going the fruit on the market the sandcastles on the beach. If your child is a little young for the words just look at the pictures, A super book for a young toddler easy to turn pages that are strong and resist a bit of chewing.
