If you listen to publisher's walls carefully enough, you can hear desperate MD's ordering their subordinates to "find me the next Harry Potter". Many are taking the bait, and many more are very poor indeed. Whilst it is popular to knock Harry Potter now that he's successful, there are many other fine stories in the children's fantasy genre, none more so than "Artemis Fowl." The book's name-sake is a twelve year old child prodigy, who is helping to run his family business of crookedness and wealth development. Fowl has been investigating the existence of fairies and the like, and has a plan to steal their fabled gold. Enter Holly ...
