Little Bear s Special Wish by Gillian Lobel is a lovely children s book with a cute and rather enchanting little story which is guaranteed to keep little ones quiet for a while! Midnight Tiger is written by Gillian Lobel and illustrated by Helen Lanzrein and is a perfect book for sharing with small children. This is a wonderful story telling of the midnight tiger s escapades at night, about how he is out in the wilderness in the middle of the night, prowling through the jungle stalking his prey. All the other creatures are aware of him and respect him greatly. As night turns to morning though, we realise that although still awesome, there is nothing to be afraid of because the midnight tiger is really a cat called Timmy, a pet that is loved and cherished by his family. The book follows a tiger’s prowl through a night. As the book progresses the tiger’s true identity is revealed and we learn he isn’t what he originally appeared to be.
