I have rather a soft spot for authors of crime fiction called Karin. Karin Slaughter, and Norwegian Karin Fossum, have written some crackers. So when I saw this by an author that was new to me, I was persuaded to give it a go. Karin Alvtegen is a Swedish author, well-known in her own country for her work. Hopefully, she will become better known in this country – she certainly deserves to be. She has been likened to Ruth Rendell, Henning Mankell and Patricia Highsmith; I was reminded more of Nicci French’s books.
