Jennifer Freyd is the daughter of the founders of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation. She is also Professor of Psychology at Oregon University, and was abused by her father. "Betrayal Trauma" is written as a personal quest to come to a professional understanding of the issues surrounding accusations of so-called "false memories" of childhood abuse.
