I DOWNLOADED this book for free after receiving an e-mail from 192.com. The book was offered in plain text, Word or PDF format, each containing the full text of the book. I opted for the plain text version, which was handily split into 5 separate sections. I loaded each section onto my Palm organiser and read the book from there. This book is amazing. No, really amazing. Wow, how amazing is this book? I was one of those people who bought Spycatcher, simply because the government of the day banned it and I wanted to see what was said. It was dull as ditchwater. I didn't read it all, it was that dull. Doo-yooer 'gollygumdrops' agrees with me. Which is always nice. He (or she, I've not checked his - or her - resume yet) says (in the commentaries): "I bought several copies of Spycatcher in the US and gave them to my local library. I still haven't read it all the way through though, so I'll take some convincing to buy this." Exactly my point, sir. ...

This excellent book was written by "renegade spy" Richard Tomlinson who was dissatisfied at MI6's treatment of him - he was sacked and told to find work in the City, apparently simply because successive personnel officers either didn't like him, or couldn't be bothered to interview him, so copied previous reports. About two thirds of the book is taken up describing his training and subsequent operations. it then moves on to describe his sacking, and attempts to go to an employment tribunal. he was imprisoned as a top security category A prisoner in Belmarsh, then paroled with conditions that he could not leave the country nor speak to any journalist, nor access ...
