I absolutely love wildlife. Bird watching, watching documentaries on slugs anything like that and don't talk to me about the Big cat Diary lol! I even love gardening and think although I'm a city girl at heart I'm quite the outdoorsy type (unless its cold, wet, raining etc lol). I went to Waterstones the other day because I really wanted a kind of beginners guide to wildlife book. I'm a novice and I needed some tips on how to start and where to start looking for things and when type of thing. I'll be the first to admit it; Bill Oddie can be a bit irritating! He has, however, done more for encouraging people to watch and look after wildlife than anyone else in Britain, with the possible exception of Sir David Attenborough. His series "How to Watch Wildlife" was an attempt to give people more information about how to go about seeing the rich and varied wildlife present in the British Isles. This book is an accompaniment to the series and builds and expands on the advice given on television.
