Paula Yates the Autobiography - Paula Yates ... YATES THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY is the title of Bob Geldof s former wife who is sadly no longer with us. Yates starts the book talking about her childhood growing up. She came from a working-class background, though had a decent upbringing. She was unsure what she wanted to become. This is a tedious part of the book as nothing much is interesting. The most interesting section of the book is when she meets her husband Bob Geldof. She talks about their love for each other and what it s really like to date a world superstar including many anecdotes of Geldof on the road. She explains the inspiration for the events Live Aid and Band Aid which were to become world wide phenome... Read the full review: PAULA YATES - AUTOBIOGRAPHY by tuttgarm |

Lance Armstrong: The World's Greatest Champion - John Wilcockson ... read both of Lance Armstrong s autobiographies I was intrigued when I saw the new book on Lance by John Wilcockson. It was a book I knew as soon as I seen it that I would want to read it and find out a little more about the Tour De France s greatest champion. I ve read both of his previous books written by Lance himself but this time Wilcockson has interviewed his close friends and family to get more of an insight into the man who has become not only the most famous cyclist of all time but also one of the biggest names in the fight against cancer in the world. Of course most people will know the basis of Lance s story, how he was a great prospect in the cycling wo... Read the full review: From The Edge Of Cancer To The World's Greatest by Andy.mack |

Harpo Speaks! - Harpo Marx ... Speaks is an autobiography by Harpo Marx and was first published in 1961. The title is of course a reference to the fact that Harpo never spoke in any of the Marx Brothers films, his own character in the pictures that of the mute horn-honking mime, harpist and mischief maker. America s greatest surrealist as Salvador Dali once called him. The book - which was written shortly before his death - takes us right back to his impoverished, sometimes rough but often happy childhood in New York where he was born in 1888 and through to his extraordinary career with his brothers on stage and screen and always colourful and interesting private life. I ve played piano in a w... Read the full review: Monkey Business by Jake Speed |
