If Only - Geri Halliwell:
... book shows the parts we have seen in the press but in a much more frank manner. You feel like your seeing Geri warts and all so to speak. She talks about her poor upbringing in Watford and her over whelming desire to become famous by posing topless, going to endless auditions until finally she got into the spice girls and began on the journey of the famous life she seemed to crave. She talks about her struggle w... Read the full review: Very honest by nikki20022008 |

Dear Fatty - Dawn French ... book isn t what I expected it s not so much about dawn French s life it s like reading her personal letters that have been kept over time. It takes a bit of getting used to but once you get used to the styles you see a good insight into her life. She never seems to directly talk about her life its more like she s asking questions from the people she knows such as do you remember when this or that happened. I think this is a great way of setting out a biography as Dawn has never been a conventional artist and I didn t expect a conventional book from her it s a lot like her work. This is a great book very different from any other I have read and thought that in the let... Read the full review: Brilliant by nikki20022008 |

Look Who it Is!: My Story - Alan Carr ... book is fantastic for once it made me laugh and is written exactly how you would expect Alan Carr to do a comedy sketch I could almost imagine him saying every word. Its was really good to read how he started out and also you can see where he got some of his inspiration from for his sketches. Its was sad to read that Alan had suffered at the hands of bullying but it was good to get an insight into his early days which normally he keeps very private. The only downside is that the book ends when his life finally takes off but on that note I m hoping there will be a sequel and we can learn about his life after his career took off. It is a brilliant book and highly recom... Read the full review: Brilliant by nikki20022008 |

Going Solo - Roald Dahl ... is fascinating from cover to cover. So many autobiographies are dull and lifeless, often written by anyone except the person and written as an act of PR. Roald Dahl s autography is something else. It is written with the same skill and excitement of his other books, and his first autbiography - boy. It is revealing and shocking, and makes you see him in such a different way. Not only is he an amazing author, but he has left a very eventful life. At no point is he showing off, he is often self deprecating and honest about times when he did things wrong. This autobiography is full of real life stories, and never seems like a load of reminiscing like other biographies. T... Read the full review: Fascinating by harriet100 |
