Having read a number of John Saul books before I was looking forward to Black Lightning since it dealt with a serial killer and I thought the thriller aspect would be an added excitement. Instead, the supernatural element was to the fore throughout and I caught on to what was happening far too early in the book which meant I spent the rest of the time waiting for the final revelation and show down which was bound to occur. I was a little disappointed with this since I always knew what was going to happen throughout and it was only at the end that the book redeemed itself since the final couple of chapters were very gripping as everything came to a head and ...
