Advantages: Great Art, action and story.

Disadvantages: I always feel a bit cheated on the price

This is the 16th volume of the hit manga Bleach.
Bleach is one of the top sellers in the manga world and is still going strong today. For a full review of bleach read my previous review on volume 14. This review however is purely on volume 16.
Up to now this is my favourite volume. It is awesome. Bleach centers around huge battles with larger than life characters. In this volume fans get what they wished for. This volume is the start of the war that is about to take place in the world of Bleach. Comrades square off against each other and some of the most powerful figures in Bleach are going to go 1 on 1 against each other. The main character is still training hard before he enters the battle. Whilst he trains his friends and new allies must fight. The story at this time is the "rescue Rukia" arc. This means The main character Ichigo and his friends are tryng to prevent the execution of their friend Rukia who is being punished for breaking laws in her world. This isnt all happeneing on earth by the way. This part of the story is set in the Soul society. A place where souls go when they die. Rukia who is a Soul reaper (someone who brings souls from earth to the soul society aswell as dealing with bad souls) has broken the law and is being harshly punished. The other soul reapers are split over her sentence. Some think the law should be upheld whilst others think there is a sinister figure working behind the scenes who is responsible for the harsh punishment.
The art is great as usual. One of the things I love about Bleach is how the creator come up with so many characters but keeps them so original. This volume has many different scenes with loads of different characters and you never get confused on who is who as is sometimes the case in manga!
This being only part of the story nothing much gets sorted by the end of the book. This for me is the downfall of bleach. It cost £5 and nothing of major importance happens. this can make you feel cheated on volumes where things are rather quiet. Luckily this volume has loads of action. Still I do think it is expensive for a glorified comic book!

Summary: I love it!
