Advantages: True story, Inspiring

Disadvantages: Could have done so much more

George Best, the David Beckham of that era. Quite possibly more famous than Beckham in comparison due to the freedom the media enjoy these days.

Its the story of the troubled and without doubt truly unrivalled talent, that was George Best.
From his time playing football with his pals in the fields in Northern Ireland, this book takes you on an jaw dropping journey with Best, back through his life that at times must have been very emotional for him to recollect.
He joins the mighty Manchester United as proffesional at the tender age of 17 years old,and by the time he is 21,wins brithish footballer of the year, European footballer of the year and the European cup with United.
Too much to soon some would say,and that was to prove correct,as Best spirals out of control on a booze and sex filled life, which doesn't sound to bad with hindsight, but hey none of us have that and he ruins his health in the end and many a relationship on the way.
Even his parents find it hard to deal with the fame thier young son has brough upon them, which sadly eventully leads to his mothers death.
His career takes him from the mighty Man Yoo, to the unlikely shores of the USA,to playing for the Jewish guild and to Hibernian in Scotland.
A truly inspiring story for anyone who has ever faced the battle of an addiction to anything.

I won't ruin the book for you by saying too much, but what I will say is,its one of the "Best" books I've ever read,I truly found it hard to put down.
