It is, therefore, a valid exercise to review the text objectively. Willy Russell's Blood Brothers is excellent when performed well on stage. Whilst reading the play will have a more shallow impression, if it's ... Read the complete review

I studied this play for my Drama GCSE, and I also saw it performed in London. It’s a good book to read, but it’s much more rewarding to see it at the theatre. The musical score is also incredible. The play is set in Liverpool, and the two central characters are Mickey Johnstone and Eddie Lyons, two twins who are separated at birth, one of whom stays with his real, impoverished family, while the other is sent to live with a rich family. The two families make an agreement that there will be no disclosure of the relationship between the two boys, but they meet and develop into best friends. Eddie later becomes rich and powerful, while Mickey ... Read the complete review
