Blood Work is the seventh novel from award winning author Michael Connelly, and the second to not feature Harry Bosch, Connelly's main character. The Plot Ex-FBI investigator Terry McCaleb is lucky to be alive. He has just had a heart transplant, and wants to know whose heart he has and how come they don't need it any more. He finds out that he has the heart due to a cold-blooded murder, and the police don't seem to be making any headway into the case. McCaleb decides to take the case on himself, despite still being in recovery, and soon puts his skills to the test in tracking the murderer.
