Rating:
Now living high in the mountains of Skeln, Dakeyras has left his former life as Waylander the slayer behind to be a woodsman and family man. The death of his wife hit him hard but he has continued to look after his two daughters. Some however do not believe he has left his former life behind and want to make sure that Waylander can never rise again. A group of the worlds most deadly assassins are hunting Dakeyras as someone is worried what he may be capable of should he find out what has happened since one of his daughters left home. He now has to regain his old abilities to stay alive and find out who wants him dead. Since I started reading Gemmell's work I've found this Drenai ...

The two previous books by Gemmell I had read, I ve enjoyed immensely and had little doubt that this one would be any different. Set before the events of the previous two books, the Drenai King has been killed by a ruthless assassin as enemy troops engulf their lands.
