Was it an ordinary balloon? I am not sure. It was shiny, and squeaky. It got bigger and bigger. It never ever bursts the balloon gets squashed, kicked and stretched. Kipper attacks it the balloon is indestructible .I think it has magic powers one day while going for a walk with the balloon it rises into the air taking Kipper and the boy into the air up up up and down to land who know where? Its high in the sky with aliens to play with. Kipper and the boy get home in time for a tea of sausage, chips and beans. So never throw that old blue balloon you never know it might be magic. Mick inkpen tells us this story in his book titled ?The blue balloon? It is ... Read the complete review

This story features one of Mike Inkpens most famous characters - Kipper the dog, although in this story he is not the star. The only trouble ... Read the complete review

Kipper (Star of his own books too) found it, but when it is blown up, it has a special power- it gets bigger and bigger and bigger-and will never burst, no matter how hard you try. The story is fun, suggesting a magic balloon, but as with Mick Inkpen's other work, the most enchanting aspect is the beautiful artwork. The foldout pages are lovely, and children appreciate the way this conveys the abnormal size the balloon attains. Children love this story to be read to them as you share the ...
